Dr. Christopher Stewart
MBBS (Hons1) MMed FRANZCO ANZSOPS
A subspecialist oculoplastic/adnexal surgeon as well as a general ophthalmologist with special interests in:
• Eyelid Skin Cancers
• Eyelid malposition surgery
• Blepharoplasty
• Lacrimal/watery eye surgery
• Orbital surgery
Dr Stewart completed his general ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital as well as an additional 2.5 years of subspecialty fellowship training in oculoplastic and adnexal surgery at the Oxford University Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in the UK.
He is an examiner in Anatomy for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University. He is a visiting medical officer at Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital and the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Dr. Phillipa Sharwood
MBBS(Hons) B Optom MMed FRANZCO
Is an adult and paediatric ophthalmologist. She enjoys treating a wide range of general ophthalmic conditions in patients from birth to over 90 years old.
She has special interests in:
• Cataract surgery in adults and children
• Strabismus (turned eyes) in adults and children
• Neuro-ophthalmology
Dr Sharwood undertook her general ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital before completing additional subspecialty fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Cambridge University Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London.
In addition to consulting and operating at Westside Private Hospital she is a visiting medical officer at the Queensland Childrens Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital an examiner in Ophthalmic Sciences for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland
